Description
Selliera radicans, commonly known as swampweed, is a low-growing, creeping perennial plant native to New Zealand. It thrives in coastal wetlands, salt marshes, and damp grasslands, forming dense mats with its spreading, bright green, fleshy leaves. In summer, it produces small, white to pale lilac trumpet-shaped flowers that attract pollinators. Selliera radicans is highly valued for erosion control, stabilizing soil in wet or saline environments. Its hardy, salt-tolerant nature makes it an excellent ground cover for wetland restoration and coastal landscaping projects, providing habitat and food for native insects.
