Description
Pittosporum crassifolium, commonly known as thick-leaved pittosporum or Kohuhu, is a small to medium-sized evergreen shrub native to New Zealand. It typically grows between 3 to 5 meters tall and features thick, leathery, dark green leaves with a silvery underside. The plant produces fragrant, creamy-white flowers that appear in spring, followed by small, orange fruit. Kohuhu is often found in coastal and lowland forest areas, thriving in well-drained soils. Known for its ornamental value, Pittosporum crassifolium is also used in landscaping and ecological restoration due to its resilience and ability to attract native pollinators.
