Melicytus ramiflorus, commonly known as the native guava or ramarama, is a small evergreen shrub endemic to New Zealand. It typically grows up to 3 meters tall and features attractive, dark green, leathery leaves. The plant produces small, fragrant flowers with a distinctive yellow center and a purple outer ring, blooming in late spring to early summer. Its reddish-brown stems are covered in fine hairs, and it is well-adapted to coastal and forest environments.
