Description
Ficinia nodosa, commonly known as knobby clubrush, is a perennial, grass-like plant native to wetlands in Australia and New Zealand. It features slender, green stems and distinctive, rounded seed heads that give it a knobby appearance. Growing in damp, marshy environments, this species thrives in areas with waterlogged soils, often forming dense stands. It plays an important role in stabilizing soil and providing habitat for wildlife. Ficinia nodosa is used in various ecological restoration projects, as well as for ornamental purposes due to its unique, attractive form. It is tolerant of both fresh and brackish water.
