Description
Acaena caesiiglauca, commonly known as blue bidibid, is a low-growing, evergreen perennial plant native to New Zealand. It forms dense, spreading mats of finely divided, bluish-grey foliage, making it an excellent ground cover. In summer, it produces small, inconspicuous flowers, followed by spiky, reddish seed heads that can cling to clothing and animal fur. Acaena caesiiglauca thrives in well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade, making it ideal for rock gardens, erosion control, and native landscaping. It is valued for its drought tolerance, resilience, and ability to suppress weeds in garden and restoration settings.
